Buenas Noches Luna by Margaret Wise Brown

Ben's Review:

I like when my mom reads me this book. We read it in Spanish and in English. It's about saying goodnight to everything. My favorite pages are when we say "goodnight kittens and goodnight mittens." In Spanish you say, "Buenas Noches."

Additional comments by Emanuel:

It's wonderful. There's bunnies in the home and there was the moon and the stars. It was bedtime. They had to go to bed. They had to close the curtains and go to bed and "fleep." The end.

A Dialogue at the Park

Stranger whose dog Emanuel was petting: Do you have a dog at your house?

Emanuel: No. I have a baby sister.

Little Dancer

In May, we went to a Renaissance Fair. Isabel LOVED the dancers and watched every second while doing a little bit of dancing herself. It was cute to watch!

Game Day

Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Hi-Hi Cherry-O, Don't Spill the Beans- so many great kid games at our house. So what did Ben and Em choose to play this evening? Chess.

That's what helmets are for!

AAA was passing out bike helmets today, so we got one for Benedict and one for Emanuel. They chose Lightning McQueen stickers at Walmart and decorated them. Emanuel immediately put his on and began banging his head into everything- walls, furniture, his brother- as hard as he could.
"Emanuel," I said, "stop that; you'll hurt yourself."
He answered, "No I won't. I'm wearing a helmet!"
